Fifa vs Pes 2016

Which football game tops the league this year?

PES 2016 boasts a passing game that's as smooth as a Galaxy chocolate bar, sporting a brand of give-and-go football that's possible thanks to intelligent off-the-ball runs from your teammates. And while the action is weighted slightly in favour of the attackers, improvements to the defensive game make it easier than ever to put a foot in without getting booked.
A bit like Manchester United under Louis Van Gaal, FIFA 16 is a much slower and more deliberate game of football, where teams really have to work hard to carve open defences by patiently passing the ball around midfield. It makes those sublime team goals more satisfying, but also harder to come by.The FIFA series has used its Abramovich-esque financial clout to bag a ton of official teams, leagues, players, kits and stadiums. It features authentic crowd chants and songs, realistic commentary, and lots of little touches like goalline technology and vanishing spray for free kicks. Each match kind of feels like a Sky Sports presentation.
PES 2016 has the Champions League and Euro 2016 licenses, as well as a smattering of official clubs and leagues, including Manchester United from our very own Premiership. Unfortunately, team lineups are outdated, kits are all wrong, the commentary is robotic and who's ever heard of the Konami Stadium?
PES 2016 does, however, claw back some kudos thanks to its Player ID system, with more superstars running, dribbling and shooting like their real-world counterparts. It's a game of two halves for the PES 2016 visuals, which look ropey up close - hair and grass textures are particularly terrible - but are much more impressive when the action is go and games are in full swing. Funnily enough, the Player ID system actually makes it easier to identify players from afar than when they're in the tunnel.
From the muddy shirts and grass stains to every expensive strand of hair on Wayne Rooney's head, you really can't fault the visuals in FIFA 16, which are much more consistent throughout.EA Sports has also added pre-season tournaments to career mode - giving teams a chance to earn more dosh - as well as Draft mode to FIFA Ultimate Team, which temporarily lets users know what it's like to manage a team of world-class players - without shelling out big bucks on gold packs.
PES 2016 takes the tinkerman approach, making lots of little tweaks and changes all over the park, from dynamic weather to an improved collision system. The result is a completely transformed experience both on and off the field. With its huge tactical depth, pages of player stats, exciting transfer system and innovative Player Role feature - where players earn boosts and bonuses for signing star players and promoting local lads - Master League is an immensely engaging career mode that hearkens back to the glory days of Pro Evolution Soccer.
Online there's myClub, where the aim is to build the best possible team by shaping team spirit and hiring the best agents to sign those star players. It's a lot like FIFA Ultimate Team, only not quite as good.
The FIFA career mode is no slouch, and the addition of pre-season tournaments and manual player training adds some depth, but it's largely the same solo mode you've been playing for the past few years.
Card-based, team-building game mode FIFA Ultimate Team also feels very samey - although arguably it didn't need much tweaking to begin with - but the addition of Drafts gives would-be managers the chance to earn big rewards while fielding a team of the best players. The only drawback is that it costs a lot to enter.
